A meeting on the fifth plan of the center

The first working group meeting on the fifth plan of the center (Drought Risk Management) was held on 7 May 2023 at the Water Research Institute (WRI), Ministry of Energy. Three representatives from WRI including Dr. Reza Roozbahani, Dr. Mohammad Javad Zareian, and Dr. Hossein Dehban along with Dr. Naser Dehghanian (Secretary of International Drought Initiative, IDI at RCUWM) attended the meeting.
In this meeting, the working and planning framework, and ideas for developing the long-term plan were discussed and reviewed according to the recommendations and expectations of the RCUWM Governing Board member states. Also, the road map and operational plan for the IDI were initially drafted in line with priority areas of IHP IX (2022-2029) ُSeveral actions including reviewing and completing the drafted plan were approved by the members. The next working group meeting will be held in May 2023.
Worth noting that, in the 13th Governing Board Meeting a high-level meeting which was held on 23 February 2023 in Tehran, representatives from Iran and Pakistan expressed their willingness to be involved in the Drought Risk Management plan.
