The first working group meeting on the fifth plan of the center (Drought Risk Management) was held on 7 May 2023 at the Water Research Institute (WRI), Ministry of Energy. The first working group meeting on the first plan of the center (Groundwater Management) was held on 30 April 2023 at the Iran Water Resources Management Company (WRMC). Four representatives from WRMC including Mr. Hajiani, Mr. Fazeli, Mr. Rahmani, and Mr. Mirarabi along with Mr. Dehghanian (RCUWM representative) attended the meeting.

In this meeting, the working and planning framework, and ideas for developing the long-term plan were discussed and reviewed according to the recommendations and expectations of the RCUWM Governing Board member states.

RCUWM committees meeting

RCUWM committees meeting was held last week  (24th April). In this meeting director and deputy of the Center, committee members and secretaries, and also research specialists of the center were discussing the following items:

  1. The issues that have been approved in the 13th governing board meeting
  2. 8 proposals of the Center
  3. Mid-term and long-term plan of the center

All of the meeting participants agreed that each one of the issues must be discussed directly in the related committee.

Tehran hosted 13th Governing Board Meeting of RCUWM at the ministerial level

The 13th Governing Board Ministerial Meeting (GBM-13) of the Regional Centre on Urban Water Management (RCUWM) under the auspices of UNESCO was held in Tehran, Iran, on 23 February 2023. So far, 12 GB meetings have been conducted by the Centre in Tehran, Muscat and Dushanbe.
